The Department of Home Economics Education (1968-1984) was an instructional unit at Brigham Young University. The department prepared students to teach home economics in schools.

The department was established in 1968 in a reorganization of the earlier Department of Homemaking Education. The unit reported to the College of Family Living (1968-1981), and later the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences (1981-1984). In 1984 the department was again reorganized as the Department of Home Economics.

Department chairs included Virginia Poulsen (1968-1970), Ruth E. Brasher (1970-1981), and Carol Ellsworth (1981-1984).
