Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography of John L. Seymour who taught at Sacramento Junior College for 24 years, produced and directed many plays, composed operas and chamber music. He later moved to Cedar City, Utah after the death of his mother and established a memorial library for her at Southern Utah State College. He discusses the operas he wrote and describes his philosophy of life.

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of typescript. Author discusses his family's British roots; their acceptance of Mormonism while living in Birmingham, England, and their immigration to the United States. Tolton also describes his experiences during the Black Hawk War (Utah) and frontier life in Utah. His account goes into great detail about his involvement in territorial and state politics, his business ventures, family life, and his mission to Great Britain for the Mormon Church.

Scope and Contents This collection includes family correspondence, autobiographical and biographical material of Edward H. Snow, journals, notebooks, documents, and miscellaneous papers. There are also newspaper clippings and published materials about Snow, as well as several photographs of Snow family members. The correspondence is largely from Snow to his wife, Hannah, and was written at the time of Snow's mission to the Southern States in the 1880's. There are also letters from Snow's father, Erastus...
