Edward Hunter Snow papers
Scope and Contents
This collection includes family correspondence, autobiographical and biographical material of Edward H. Snow, journals, notebooks, documents, and miscellaneous papers. There are also newspaper clippings and published materials about Snow, as well as several photographs of Snow family members. The correspondence is largely from Snow to his wife, Hannah, and was written at the time of Snow's mission to the Southern States in the 1880's. There are also letters from Snow's father, Erastus Snow, to Snow ans Snow's wife. There is a sympathy letter from Heber J. Grant to Snow's family written on the occasion of Snow's death. Much of the correspondence has been transcribed and bound together; these letters are also included in the collection. The journals cover his mission to the Southern States and his mission to the Eastern States. There is a souvenir book of the first Utah State Legislature, of which Snow was a member, and there are newspaper clippings and articles relating to Snow's work with the Utah State Tax Commission, St. George Temple, and Southern Utah State College.
