The Southern States Mission (1867-1971) provided religious instruction for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and parts of Ohio.

Charles A. Callis letters
Includes 46 letters from Charles A. Callis, President of the Southern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to Leonard A. Fillerup, leader of the Kentucky Conference of the same mission, as well as various other letters and materials relating to the Southern States Mission during the years 1924-1926. The materials include instruction, testimony, and mission progress and statistics.

Contains books, records, diaries, correspondence, and other documents from Joseph Facer's life, dealing mainly with his service in the LDS Church. Also contains Hill and Richards family books and a detailed history on the John Kenny and Agnes Hill Richards families and the Alexander Hill and Elizabeth Currie Hill families(the grandparents and great-grandparents of Emma Richards Facer, Joseph's wife).
Joseph B. Keeler family papers
Includes journals, biographical sketches, correspondence, articles, lesson manuals, published and unpublished manuscripts, photographs, and ephemera. The bulk of the material was created by Joseph B. Keeler's descendants, who used his papers as they compiled their published family history, "Build Thee More Stately" (1989). The collection focuses on family history, religion, education, and professional organizations.
Heber Meeks papers
Correspondence, reports, and speeches. The materials relate to Meeks' assignment as the mission president to the Southern States Mission for the Mormon Church and to his work with the Democratic Party in Utah.

The A. O. Smoot family papers consists of correspondence, publications, genealogy records, journals, account books, receipts, and related ephemera. The collection covers several generations and family members of the Smoot Family. Materials are dated 1815 to 1961.

Tuttle family papers
Contains a correspondence book belonging to Newton Tuttle. Includes courtship letters between Henry Bartholomew and Clara Tuttle. Also contains the missionary diaries of Henry Bartholomew to the Southern States and British missions. Includes financial documents, journals, address books, calling cards, and newspaper clippings belonging to the Tuttle family. Includes Clara Tuttle's patriarchal blessing. Also includes Garretty's Guide to Salt Lake City (circa 1890).
