Photocopy of typescript. Includes a number of letters written to Tenney by such people as Brigham Young (1801-1877), Wilford Woodruff (1807-1898), and John W. Young (1844-1924) concerning the purchase of land at St. Johns, Arizona, for Mormon settlement, missionary work among the Indians, and obtaining work for Mormon settlers by bidding on raliroad contracts. Some of Tenney's replies are also included. Folder also includes typescript copy of Tenney's journal for 1875-1876.

Handwritten and signed letters, dated 17 and 23 Dec. 1876, and addressed to John Willard Young, one of Brigham Young's sons and a future apostle in the Mormon Church. Brigham Young writes about personal matters and urges John to return to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Handwritten and signed letters dated 6 April 1874 and 15 Sept. 1887. The 1874 missive is addressed to settlements "southeast of St. George," Utah, and relates to the mission of the the Mormon Church to the Indians of Moencopi. The 1887 letter is addressed to George Alfred Townsend and relates to Townsend's disire to come to the West U.S.
