This project is a collection of family Christmas traditions, stories, and recipes. The collector gives background about her family, including family history and pedigree, and discusses how many of these traditions are perpetuated in the family. Traditions include Christmas morning rituals, recipes, Mormon missionary Christmas, rice balls, and the future of these traditions. Abbott collected narratives from men and women about their memories of childbirth. Included are memories of giving birth to a baby that died, a woman on bed rest for four months, and a baby delivered by Caesarian section. Bickel collected a narrative from her mother, Chantal P. Thompson, describing her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Included are stories of Chantal's experiences with religion prior to her conversion, her meetings with the missionaries, and the opposition she faced from her family at joining the church. The project was collected for an English 655 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.
