Official edicts, proclamations, and law codes relating to the administration of Prussia. These items relate to the financial, bureaucratic, and military administration of the kingdom. The bulk of the collection was presented under the authority of King Frederick William I (1688-1740). The materials are dated from 1714 to 1727 with one document originating in 1634. The 1634 item relates to the laws of the city of Stettin in Germany.

Collection contains newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, articles, papers and official documents pertaining to George M. Hanson's work as an American Consul Officer in areas such as Tasmania, Sandakan, British North Borneo and Liege, Belgium. Includes letters from Bertha to her sister Ethel Bradley. Materials document George and Bertha's experiences and reflections on Pacific Island peoples, geography and colonial politics. Dated 1912-1939.

Walter Murray Gibson diaries

Holograph diaries which give daily accounts of activities in Maui, including cabinet meetings, interactions with Claus Spreckels, the financial supporter of Gibson's government, association with King Kalakaua, visits to Mother Marianne of Molokai at the convent at Kakaako on Maui, the Hawaiian revolution of 1887 in which Gibson was ousted from office and exiled, and the breach of promise suit brought against Gibson by Flora St. Clair, whom he had allegedly promised to marry.

Charles George Gordon letter

Scope and Contents

Handwritten and signed letter (4 pages), dated February 9, 1877, and addressed to "Mr. Scott." Gordon, writing from Cairo, discusses the British attempt to stop the slave trade in Africa and comments on a possible British guarantee of Egyptian independence.
