These original documents deal with a family corresponding from London to St. Helena (an island off the coast of Africa). There are six letters dating from 1754 - 1769. One will and testament, 1768. One document describing the person of Jesus (not dated). At the bottom of the page there is a reference to the Millennial Star. One indentured servant document of John Isack, 1776.

Photocopy of a handwritten and signed letter dated April 13, 1847. Also included is a typescript of the item. Tanner writes to his "Father and Mother, Brothers & Sisters" to tell them about the moves he has been forced to make because of the persucutions of the Mormons and informs them about the deaths of family members.

Alma O. Taylor diaries

Scope and Contents

Handwritten diaries and two folders of correspondence and newspaper clippings. Taylor was called to serve on a mission to Japan for the Mormon Church in 1901. He presided over the Japan Mission from 1905 to 1910. A few diary entries were made between 1911 and 1946. Also included are correspondence relating to the mission and newspaper clippings about the work of translating the Book of Mormon into Japanese.

Scope and Contents Handwritten letter from J. J. Taylor, Payson, Arizona, to his brother Rick about business matters. Includes a description of a mutual acquaintance, G. W. Davis, being imprisoned for forgery in selling property. Also includes detail about a man named James Taylor who was wanted for robbing a bank and other charges. Two law officers tried to arrest Taylor when he shot and killed one, and then was shot and killed by the other. The letter concludes with J. J. Taylor writing about water rights...

Handwritten letter addressed to Judge Elias Smith dated 14 March 1874 and signed by John Taylor. Taylor informs Smith of money owed him (Taylor) and others by the Caroline H. Debrowske estate.
