He describes his journey from Utah to Liverpool with brother-in-law Anton Anderson, and he details his travels and ministry in Scotland, where he spent the entirety of his mission. Three original missionary journals, photocopies of these items, and photocopies of a scriptural reference book and two death certificates. Macfarlane, a resident of Cedar City, Utah, describes his temporal and religious experiences while serving on this mission.

Scope and Contents

Journal by Wright, March 1839 to January 1843, records his journey from Nauvoo, Illinois to the East Coast, his missionary efforts there and then his missionary labors in Scotland. He was one of the first missionaries to the country. It includes an account of his return on the Ship Sydney, and his activities in Altoona, Pennsylvania. His genealogy, financial accounts and some miscellaneous notations are included, including some work he performed on the Nauvoo Temple.
