Abstract

The great bulk of the J. Reuben Clark Jr. papers were inventoried in 1967. This register is only of the Clark papers that have come to the library since that time. This addendum contains a variety of papers that cover the full life span of Mr. Clark. However, the great bulk of the material here are his personal diaries and his financial records.

John B. Fairbanks papers

Scope and Contents This collection consists of memorabilia, letters, essays, and biographies of Fairbanks. Three of the letters are from Joseph F. Smith, an apostle and later president, of the Mormon Church. The essays include "The History of Art" and "A Short Sketch of the Life of the Artist John Hafen" by Fairbanks.Two biographies of Fairbanks are in the collection. Content Description Handwritten letter sent by Erastus Snow to James McGaw. Letter is signed for Erastus Snow by James M. Brown and sent from St. Louis, Missouri. This letter discusses the passage of Latter-day Saint member James Mather and his family from Liverpool, England to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1855. Elder James M. Brown, writing for Apostle Erastus Snow, sent this receipt and order to Elder James McGaw in Atchison, Kansas Territory to supply Mather with wagons and oxen for the overland trip to Utah....

Lorenzo Snow letter
