E. Jay Bell letters
Five letters addressed to Jay E. Bell of Provo, Utah, in answer to inquiries concerning the beliefs and doctrines of the LDS Church (Strangites) and the RLDS Church (Independence). Concerns temple ordinances, revelation and prophets, tithing, the law of consecration, polygamy, the birth of Christ, Joseph Smith Jr., the Doctrine and Covenants, and other doctrines.
William Brace letters received
Typewritten and signed letters addressed to Brace explaining the differences between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other "splinter" faiths.
Church of Jesus Christ records
The Church of Jesus Christ (Strangites) was established by James Jesse Strang in 1844, though they claim to be the successor of the Mormon Church founded in 1830.
Compilation of typescripts of correspondence of James J. Strang, Wingfield Watson and other Strangites; biographical sketches and doctrinal outlines. Many items have more than one letter per typescript page.
Documents in the Case of John W. Archer vs. James J. Strang and John Cole
Handwritten legal documents including affidavits, writs, depositions, and decisions. The items relate to a suit brought by John W. Archer, a disaffected Strangite, against James J. Strang and John Cole in the summer of 1849 to recover a wagon Archer had consecrated to Strang's group. The case was heard in Walworth County, Wisconsin.
Richard Drew letter
Photocopy of a typewritten and signed letter addressed to Philip Wilson. The item deals with questions on the successor of the Mormon Church after the death of Joseph Smith (1805-1844) from the position of the Strangites.

Film contains 22 items, including three collections: Nauvoo court records; Eudocia Marsh's Mormons in Hancock County : a Reminiscence; and the Strangite Papers, 1851-1963.
History of the Bennett Trial Manuscript
Typewritten history which traces the provenance of the manuscript and its use as an historical source. The manuscript concerns the trial of John C. Bennett. Collection also includes a copy of the trial manuscript.
James Jesse Strang papers
Correspondence of six items. Five are addressed to Strang and one is addressed to H. D. McCulloch, a follower of Strang. Also with the materials is a letter of appointment to make Strang a mail carrier. Also included is a handwritten copy of Strang's "Municipalities" which is found in chapter 27 of his "The Book of the Law of the Lord." With the materials is a copy of the Michigan legislature's rules dated 1854.
Eunice Kinney correspondence
Collection includes letters about James Strang and discuss history and doctrine of the "Brighamites," Strangites, and Reorganized Church, written between 1876 and 1892. Also included is Eunice Kinney's "Testimony of the Latter-day Work."
