Scope and Contents

Seven postcards written by the Smith family from 1902-1909. Postcards are written by Sarah Farr Smith, John Henry Smith, Nathaniel Libby Smith (son of Sarah and John), and Winslow Farr Smith (son of Sarah and John). The postcards are written from various locations in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Florence, and Venice, as well as one sent from Chicago, Illinois. Collection also includes one receipt of contribution by George Albert Smith for the Utah Republican Finance Committee, dated 1946.

Biographical / Historical

The Smith family began with the marriage of Sarah Farr Smith (1849-1921), and John Henry Smith (1848-1911), on October 20, 1866, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had 11 children: John Henry, George Albert, Lorrin Farr, Don Carlos, Ezra Chase, Charles Warren, Winslow Farr, Nathaniel Libby, Nancy Claire, Tirzah Priscilla, and Else Louise. The family resided in Salt Lake City, and Ogden, Utah.
