Scope and Contents
Letter from Sigmund Heilner to Seligmann Heilner. After a month in Germany, Sigmund decides to return to the American West, never to return to Germany again. This is a turning point in his life. After years of considering his immigration to America temporary, he now firmly plants his life in Oregon and moves forward, for the first time, considering his own needs to build a personal family life and business. Dated September 28, 1871. Also contains a translation of the letter.
