"Come we go run a boat" : Jamaican food lore / Charlene Brown, 2005
Scope and Contents note
This project contains the folklore, recipes, and stories about Jamaican food and food preparation. It is from both an emic and etic perspective and includes stories about the collector growing up in Jamaica. The items collected are recipes and their history, often accompanied by family stories. Some of the recipes include jerk chicken, chicken foot soup, ackee and salt fish, flittas, oxtail, curried goat, roasted breadfruit, ice cold jelly, chocolate and cane liquor tea, and others. Collected by Charlene Brown, Dr. Deirdre Paulsen's ENGL 391 class, Winter 2005.
