Trek stories / Karlin H. Coombs, 2005

 Item — Box: 352, Folder: 10
Identifier: FA 1 Item 4299

Scope and Contents note

This project is a collection of stories from Mormon pioneer reenactments, called trek. It includes a brief history of the handcart pioneers and a history of the trek in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The analysis shows how trek can be a spiritual experience and how it increased ties to the past. It notes a common theme of gratitude for pioneers and ancestors. It also comments on the humorous side of the trek experience, and discusses the many customs in trek. Collected by Karlin H. Coombs, Dr. Deirdre Paulsen's ENGL 303R Honors class, Winter 2005.
