Biographical / Historical

From the Collection:

Lucy Mack Smith Carter was born April 14, 1890, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Fielding Smith and Alice Ann Kimball. She attended Union School and LDS University. Around 1914, she was called to serve as a member of the General Board of the Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1915, she married Ralph Charles Carter in Salt Lake City. They had seven children: Helen Mar, Ralph Charles Carter, Jr., Richard Fielding, Lucy May, Jason Mack, MargaretJean, and Paul Smith. Lucy died November 24, 1933.
