Scope and Contents

Contains responses to an advertisement placed in the BYU Magazine requesting recollections by students, faculty, and alumni about notable university and world events. These include reminiscent accounts concerning the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the space shuttle Challenger explosion, campus working experiences, social life, Y Bell, Y Days, university mascots, lighting the Y, dating, places of hangouts, Persian Gulf War, Intermountain Association of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH) conference, Preference Ball dances, KBYU, and World War II.

Restricted. Closed for 35 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the University Archives Policy.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from BYU Magazine collection of reminiscences must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.
