Scope and Contents

Material contains papers relating to the military service of Ballard T. White during the Korean War. A brief biography, email correspondence between White and the Saints at War project, White's memoir, and many issues of the "Pusan Chingoo," a newsletter for the saints in Korea, are included. Some of the issues of the newsletter contain articles in Korean. Dated 1954-1955, 2002.

Material contains a brief memoir written by Boyd Redden about his military experiences in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corp in the Korean War, as well as Redden's Participant Information Sheet. Explains how the Korean War ended while he was on his two week leave before he shipped out. Describes an experience where he got lost once and crossed the demilitarized zone but the North Koreans allowed them to turn around and go back. Dated March 2002.

Materials include an unbound book put together by Calvin W. Jackson of the missions and aircraft that he flew, medals and commendations he received, as well as newspaper clippings, photographs, and stories about him. These materials details Jackson's service for the U.S. Army Air Corps toward the end of World War II and his personal history prior to enlisting.
