Letter from Heilner family to Sigmund Heilner and Seligmann Heilner. Sigmund Heilner starts a Baker City bank. Prosperity allows the brothers to purchase much land around Baker. Gold, discovered in the Baker area, sends a fever throughout the area that becomes highly contagious. However at this junction in the two men's lives, they mainly seemed content to supply goods to the miners. Dated April 26, 1882. Also contains a translation of the letter.
