Scope and Contents
Letter from Heilner family to Sigmund Heilner and Seligmann Heilner. This is the first letter addressed to Baker City, Oregon where Sigmund and family spent the rest of their lives. Baker was an important mining town in the 1870s. Sigmund continues to dabble in mining, though his business is principally in the mercantile trade. Dated October 2, 1876. Includes a translation of the letter.
