Letter from Heilner family to Sigmund Heilner. Sigmund Heilner ends his freight forwarding partnership with Henry Freedman. After eight months in Germany, Seligmann desires to return to California. This pattern repeats itself as the letters speak of others who are torn between family in Germany and better prospects in America. Dated April 20, 1861. Includes a translation of the letter.
