Biography

William Augustus Bringhurst (1839-1912) was a pioneer and early convert to the LDS church.

William Augustus Bringhurst was born on January 26, 1839 in Lionville, Pennsylvania to Samuel and Eleanor Beitler Bringhurst. At age 16, William learned to be a wheelwright from his father. He later joined the army to help guard citizens and the mail routes from Indians, after which he moved to Toquerville, Utah and became involved in the mercantile business. William had three wives: Susana Adams Steele, Mary Janet Stapley, and Selinda Dolby Palmer. He was a father to 25 children. He became the bisop of the Toquerville ward and remained in that position for over 38 years.

William passed away March 8, 1912.
