Scope and Contents

One missionary diary of William Augustus Bringhurst, volume two, from 25 October 1897-24 June 1898, while he was serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. Also includes typed and electronic transcripts of his personal journal with approximately 25 short entries from 1886-1908; the first volume of his missionary diary, kept January 1897-25 October 1897; and the second volume of his missionary diary, kept 25 October 1897-24 June 1898. Includes a scanned copy of the second volume of his missionary diary and two scanned photographs of William on CD, one dated 1885 and the other 1900.

Biographical History

William Augustus Bringhurst was born 29 September 1863 in Salt Lake City to William Augustus Bringhurst Sr. and Selinda Dolby Palmer. He married Martha Ann Grainger (1866-1955) on 29 January 1866, and they had twelve children. He worked in the railroad telegraph office at Milford and taught school at Minersville, Toquerville, and Rockville. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California from 1897-1898 and died in Pocatello, Idaho, on 22 July 1936.
