Gividen was interviewed by Winston Erickson for the Oral History of Utah's World War II Veterans on May 22, 2000. Gividen tells about his military experiences, including getting shot down. Scope and Contents

Typescript of an interview conducted by Ben Bahlmann on January 24, 1999. The audiocassettes from which the interview was transcribed were retained by Bahlmann. Gividen tells about his experiences as a co-pilot on a B-17 bomber during World War II. He talks about his training and experiences in combat. His bomber was shot down over Germany, but it crashed in Switzerland. He was severely injured, and remained in Switzerland for the remainder of the war.
