Scope and Contents

Typescript of an interview conducted by Ben Bahlmann on January 24, 1999. The audiocassettes from which the interview was transcribed were retained by Bahlmann. Gividen tells about his experiences as a co-pilot on a B-17 bomber during World War II. He talks about his training and experiences in combat. His bomber was shot down over Germany, but it crashed in Switzerland. He was severely injured, and remained in Switzerland for the remainder of the war.

Harlold V. Gividen was a resident of Mapleton, Utah, as of 1999. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
