Biographical History

Elizabeth Sharber Wade (1913-1999) was a Pioneer in Kentucky.

Elizabeth Sharber Wade was born on November 26, 1913, near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to parents, Johnathan McMahan and Lavina Manire Sharber. She was influenced by the church since she was a baby, however she didn't join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until 1932, when the missionaries came through the area. She married James Warren Wade (1913-2006) on March 14, 1938 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and together they had two children. Wade was instrumental in bringing the LDS church to the area of Hopkinsville, KY, aiding in chapel building, missionary work, and family history. She served in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary at various times and with various responsibilities. She was very interested in education, and attended classes every term for 51 years. Over that time, she earned her Masters in Education while she was teaching or supervisor of teachers in the Christian County School District.

Wade died on January 22, 1999.
