Biographical History

Gail Wade Jacobs (1943- ) is a theater artist and family historian.

Gail Wade Jacobs was born on December 22, 1943, in Crofton, Kentucky. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Dramatic Arts. Sshe was involved in the A Cappella Choir at BYU and traveled to the Orient with the BYU-USO Theater Tour. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Ontario Quebec mission. She married David Kent Jacobs on May 25, 1973, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and together they have five children.

Jacobs lives in Utah.

Biographical History

Mertyle Sharber Combs (1905-1996) was a Mormon educator in Kentucky and Illinois.

Combs was born as Myrtle Lavina Argentina Sharber on September 26, 1905, in Christian County, Kentucky, to parents Jonathan McMahan and Lavinia Minter Manire Sharber. She married Bennie Goff Combs (1908-1967) on February 13, 1928, in Claqrksville, Tennessee. She received a teachers certificate from the Western Kentucky State Teachers College on June 1, 1934, and used it while teaching elementary school in Indiana. She finally graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the Pestalozzi Froebel Teachers College in Illinois on August 26, 1960, then continued teaching in Indiana and later in Kentucky. On February 7, 1939, in Crofton, Kentucky, Combs was baptised and confirmed as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in her local congregations for the rest of her life.

Combs died on August 14, 1996, in Kentucky.

Biographical History

Elizabeth Sharber Wade (1913-1999) was a Mormon Pioneer in Kentucky.

Elizabeth Sharber Wade was born on November 26, 1913, near Hopkinsville, Kentucky to parents, Johnathan McMahan and Lavina Manire Sharber. She was influenced by the church since she was a baby, however she didn't join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until 1932, when the missionaries came through the area. She married James Warren Wade (1913-2006) on March 14, 1938 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and together they had two children. Wade was instrumental in bringing the LDS church to the area of Hopkinsville, KY, aiding in chapel building, missionary work, and family history. She served in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary at various times and with various responsibilities. She was very interested in education, and attended classes every term for 51 years. Over that time, she earned her Masters in Education while she was teaching or supervisor of teachers in the Christian County School District.

Wade died on January 22, 1999.
