Administrative History

Viking (1928-1962) was a social unit for male students at Brigham Young University.

Viking was established by Brigham Young University's Inter-Social Unit Council on October 10, 1928. Viking and all social units associated with the university were disbanded at the end of the 1961-1962 school year as a result of increased selectivity.

Scope and Contents

Contains a wood initiation paddle for the Viking social unit at Brigham Young University. The paddle is inscribed as being for "Scrud--Peterson". Signatures of other Viking members are written directly on the paddle. Materials dated 1950.
