David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies
Administrative History
The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies (1982- ) provides international study and service opportunities for students at Brigham Young University.
The center offers six interdisciplinary studies programs: Ancient Near East Studies, Asian Studies, European Studies, International Relations, Latin American Studies, and Middle Eastern Studies/Arabic. The center also holds conferences, seminars, and weekly forums on international issues designed to prepare students for international careers.

Includes reports of productivity from various departments on campus including the College of Biology and Agronomy and the College of Humanities, studies on scholarships given to international students, and documentation pertaining to the creation of BYU's Distance Learning program and Independent Study program. Dated 1968 to 2004.
R. Lanier Britsch papers
Includes resumes, letters of recommendation, and correspondence while at the university as well as grades, old class rolls, reading lists, and other class material. Education Week and Kennedy Center records are included. Also includes Britsch's dissertation, drafts of other writings, and faculty addresses.

Contains minutes and correspondence from the Kennedy Center. The correspondences are off campus and on campus correspondences, correspondences to faculty staff and university information systems, and other commitees a part of the university. Includes minutes for BYU's Assistant Vice President's meeting and a copy of BYU's strategic plan for the Department of Communications - including proposals for their Media Ethics Studies program, BYU's Communication Research center, a plan on the recruitment and equal treatment of women and minority faculty/students, etc. Dated February 1992.
