Scope and Contents
Handwritten diaries from 1889 to 1890 and 1909, notebooks, autobiographies, and notes. The diary was kept while Hale served on a mission for the Mormon Church in Great Britain and Ireland. The notebooks were kept while Hale was attending the University of Deseret.

Scope and Contents
This collection consists of photocopied diaries. The initial thirty-two pages are autobiographical and tell of the first twenty-one years of the author's life. The journal entries are from December 2, 1871 to January 24, 1894. The years 1873 to 1876 are summarized. Johnson attended Deseret University and later taught there. He married Lucy A.
