Biography of John and Ann Stewart
Typewritten biography of John Stewart, a painter, and his wife, Ann Waddle Stewart. John and Ann were Scottish converts to the Mormon Church. They migrated to Utah and later settled in Provo, Utah.

Handwritten and printed commission authorizing George Robert Bird to be a minister and missionary for the Presbyterian Church in the Sandy and American Fork areas of Utah. The item also stipulates the duties, regulations, and salary of the commission.
Elijah Bishop diary
Handwritten diary dated from 7 April 1822 to 20 Jan. 1829. Bishop states, "Elijah Bishop is my name, and American is my nation, Elizabeth Town is my dwelling place, and Christ is my salvation." The manuscript documents the regligious odyssey of a man of upstate New York, ranging from a spiritual visionary ecstasy to a time of virtual despair. A few entries are in code, reflecting Bishop's intense concern with the daily state of his spiritual conditon. There are many gaps in the diary.
Isaac H. Bishop letter
Photocopy of a handwritten letter and a typescript of the item. The letter is addressed to "Dear Brother and Sister" and dated 3 May 1849. Bishop writes about family matters and quotes from the second book of Esdras dealing with the end of the world.
Bishop of Waterford letter
Handwritten letter dated 14 July 1793. The item is written in the thrid person and states that "the Bishop of Waterford presents his compliments to Ms. Johnson" and requests that a letter be safely delivered to a W. Lindsey.

Stout writes on a large number of issues relating to the geography of the Book of Mormon.
