Robert Lang Campbell papers
The collection contains one personal tax ledger book for Great Salt Lake City during the years 1856-1857, just prior to the Utah War. It contains a record of personal taxes paid, recorded by Ward, and by individuals in the Ward. It includes the records of twenty Wards as well as the Sugar House Ward. The ledger book also includes the names of several early and important members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Brigham Young.
Robert Campbell letter
Letter of Robert Campbell, Clerk of the First Council of Seventies, to President L. W. Shurtliff, of Ogden, dated 8 October 1888. Requests information on the Church status of Mark Hall, who had been reported excommunicated from the Church.
Thomas Campbell letter to Jemima D. Goforth
Handwritten and signed letter, addressed to Jemima D. Goforth, dated Aug. 5, 1829, and written in Bethany, Virginia. Campbell expresses thanks for previous letters and tells of his preaching the "pure apostolic Gospel" and visiting churches. He tells of the missionary activities of his movement and of the successes in gaining new converts.

The materials relate to a large range of topics in the early history of the Mormon Church; Joseph Smith, second president of the Mormon Church; and his family. Interviewees include Smith family members and those who knew them. The items were copied by Donald Q. Cannon as part of the continuing Mormon Church History Sources Project.
