Materials include an original letter written by Vilate Kimball to her son-in-law Horace K. Whitney, husband of Helen Mar Kimall, from Winter Quarters on June 08, 1847. In it she says that she understands he misses his family, but assures him Helen is being taken care of and the family will meet him soon. Dated June 8, 1847.
