Bedtime
Original pen and ink drawing, initialed, and dated 24 Feb. 1893. The item depicts a mother mouse holding a baby mouse with two other mice in a cradle. This is one of a set of six drawings intended to illustrate "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe," which was never published. It was later used in "Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes." It was also used in "The Tale of Two Bad Mice."
Joanna Southcott sealing document
Handwritten certificate signed by Joseph Allman and Joanna Southcott. The item was also "sealed" with a red wax seal which meant that the holder would be among the 144,000 mentioned in the Book of Revelations who had a special calling at the return of Jesus Christ. The document states: "The sealed of the Lord the elect precious man's redemption to inherit the Tree of Life to be made heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ."
