The other letter is dated 2 April of an unspecified year and is addressed to "Miss Gertrude Stroham" (?) in which Burroughs tells her she may quote certain passages from his works. Two handwritten and signed letters, addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth, composed in Boston, Massachusetts, and dated 4 Dec. 1902 and 2 Jan. 1903. Allen informs Aylesworth where he may find biographical information on himself. Allen also lists some of his recent publications. The envolopes used to send these letters are found with the collection.

Scope and Contents

Two handwritten and signed letters dated 23 June 1886 and 18 July 1888. Burdett-Coutts greets her friends and writes of her recent activities. Also included is a portrait of Burdett-Coutts and an article clipped from a magazine. The item tells about the activities and accomplishments of Burdett-Coutts. With the collection is a biography of Burdett-Coutts clipped from a magazine and a printed announcement of her death.
