Goodwin collected folklore surrounding traditional Chinese funerals. Included are varying accounts of how long the body should be out before it is buried, descriptions of professional mourners who cry continually over the body, and explanation of possessions that are burned when the body is buried. The project was written for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.

Albrecht collected information from her family about traditional recipes, though she did not include the recipes themselves. Included are discussions of the dishes 'camel' popcorn, hootnanny pancakes, and sausage balls. The project was written for Dr. Rudy's English 392 taught at Brigham Young University in 1998.

Mangum presents a collection of funny, disheartening and significant annoyances that have occurred on many wedding days. By examining the cultural traditions, meanings and importance of marriage and weddings amongst members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mangum discusses the desire for perfection for Mormon weddings versus receptions.
