Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography of Sarah Binns Chapman. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1842. She migrated to Utah with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852. She settled in American Fork, Utah, where she raised a large family.

Washburn was born in Canada in 1829 and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1836. He moved near Nauvoo, Illinois, and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1847. He later settled in American Fork, Utah, where he died in 1926

Biography of William Henry Chipman

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography of Henry Chipman. Chipman was born in 1833 and later joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He migrated to Utah in 1847 and later settled in American Fork. He married three times, had 25 children, and died in 1891.

Soren Peter Christensen diary

One handwritten bound journal in Danish. Christensen talks about his voyage from Denmark to America in 1871. Daily entries begin in May 1873 and record weather conditions and mining activities in Carbon, Wyoming.

He recalls his experience of traveling across the plains and settling in early Salt Lake City and Manti, and includes stories of encounters with Indians and the challenges of creating a life in newly-settled Utah. Also includes the genealogy of relatives and descendants of John Haslem Clark, Senior, John Haslem Clark's father.

Henry Clegg diary and letter

Typescript of a diary and a typewritten letter. The diary was written from 30 Mar. to 4 Sept. 1855 and records Clegg's journey from Liverpool, England to the Western U.S. on his way to Utah. Parts of the original handwritten diary are in shorthand and were not transcribed. The letter is dated 12 Aug. 1981 and is from Garth N. Jones to James B. Allen. It tells about the life of Henry Clegg.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten dual biography. Joseph Smith Clements was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1842. He came to Utah in 1849. He live in Salt Lake City and in Stockton, Utah. Roxie Ann Baker was born in 1849 in Des Moines, Iowa, and came to Utah in 1850. Joseph married Roxie Ann, and they had 12 children. They were both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in American Fork, Utah. Joseph died in 1895, and Roxie Ann...

Thomas Colborn letters

Photocopies of two handwritten letters and two typescripts of these items dated 2 June and 6 Sept. 1846 from Sarah Bowers Colborn and Thomas Colborn to Daniel Bowers, Sarah's brother. The items were written when Sarah and Thomas were migrating with the Mormons across Iowa. The Colborn's explain why they were forced to leave Nauvoo, Illinois and describe their jouney. They also write about family matters and express appreciation for the Mormon faith.
