Submitted by BYU student Pamela Lewis for her Spring 1972 English 391 class. About the the popular activites of first graders, mostly joke-telling. Contains a cover essay, autobiographical sketch, informant abstracts, and informant items. Include a nonsense riddle (4+4=18), more nonsensical riddles, the barn joke, a lollipop joke, a dirty joke, a "barking lot", elephant jokes, more jokes, some jump rope rhymes, and the Waddley-Achee song.

Scope and Contents note Kimball retraces her mother's story as she fulfills her American Dream of property ownership. Beginning at the dream of owning property down through obtaining the land and building a house on it, Kimball's mother recalls each instance with a very American, biblically versed, Mormon point of view, which Kimball contests allows for deeper meaning and lasting influence upon listeners of her stories. Scope and Contents note This project is a collection of Mormon missionary initiations and pranks. The analysis discusses missionary culture and the tension of missionary life compared to the drive to have fun and relax, and how these stories reveal that inner conflict. Dwight Denison collected personal narratives of woodworking folklore among married students at Brigham Young University. Included are interviews with woodworking enthusiasts and pictures/patterns of projects they made. Project was written for an English 392 class taught at Brigham Young University during Winter semester 1991.

Includes a life history of the author's grandmother, taken from a tape-recorded interview. Analyzes the content and the narrative style of the life history in terms of educational and inspirational value. Includes several photocopied photographs, pedigree chart, and other family history documents. Nordstrom has a keen interested in the modern medical world, but her father-in-law looks towards herbal remedies, consequently she looked for middle-ground with folk cures for mild problems. Included are cures for the hiccups, cold and flu prevention, and cures for a sore throat. Project was created for Dr. Eliason's English 391 course taught at Brigham Young University in 1999.

Thomas E. Downing collected information on a 19th century house in Payson, Utah (275 North 300 East). Included are descriptions of the home's materials and dimensions, speculations as to additions and changes made to the original home, and diagrams and photographs of the house and its details. Project was written for an Anthropology 315 class taught at Brigham Young University during Winter semester 1987.

Horman collected folklore surrounding the family tradition of wearing a great grandmother's lace veil when getting married. Included are descriptions of why wearing the veil became a tradition, how it was worn by each woman, and pictures of the women wearing the veil. The project was collected for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.
