This item is a photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Richard Steele was born in 1818 in England and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1840. He migrated to the United States in 1842. Steele lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, met the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith, and migrated to Utah in 1851. He settled in American Fork in 1852 and died in 1881.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Mary Ann Smith was born in 1848 in England. Her family soon joned the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She came to Utah in 1868 and married Jonathan Steggell in that same year. She settled in American Fork, Utah, and died there in 1933.

Photocopy of a typescript of an autobiography by Edwin Stott. Stott talks about his journey from England to America, settling in Meadow, Utah, Indian troubles, and his father. Stott was among those who buried the dead following the Gunnison Massacre in 1853. He describes a confrontation with Indian warriors while on the burial detail.

Charles B. Stuart letters to Nathaniel B. Baker

Scope and Contents Contains two letters from Charles Stuart, railroad designer, to Nathaniel B. Baker, Adjutant General of the Iowa Militia. Both letters concern the building of railroads in Iowa that would connect with the transcontinental railroad, which was about to be built, beginning in Omaha, Nebraska. The first letter, dated January 15, 1860, is on “Office of the American Railroad Bureau” letterhead, and discusses the Lyons Railroad. Henry Martin Tanner letters

Scrapbook. Louetta Brown Tanner called it a "diary" which was kept from 13 to 20 March 1950 while she was with the "Sons of Utah Pioneers Mormon Battalion Trek." The scrapbook contains a typewritten account of the trip, poems, post cards, photographs, programs, and newspaper clippings relating to those who followed the route of the Mormon Battalion in 1950.
