Samuel Millikan letters

Scope and Contents

Eleven typewritten copies and one holograph. In letters to his wife, Rhoda, Millikan describes the difficulties and fears of a man travelling over the plains to Salt Lake Valley, Utah, and on to the California gold fields. His letters, while descriptive of the terrain and events encountered, are full of love and yearning for home and family.

Tamma Durfee Miner autobiography and photographs

Scope and Contents Contains a photocopy of a typescript autobiography of Tamma Durfee Miner titled "'A Memorial' Written by Tamma Durfee Miner March 13, 1881, in Springville, Utah." Her autobiography tells of her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1831, the early persecution of the Church and her family, migration to the Salt Lake Valley from Iowa, and settling in Springville, Utah. The diaries cover the time when Dalton served on a mission for the Church in the Central States from 1914 to 1916, when he was with the United States armed forces in France from 1918 to 1919, and when he served as a mission in South Africa from 1929 to 1935....

Scope and Contents This collection consists of three biographies. The subjects of these biographies are Morley's ancesters who settled in the Sanpete Valley of Utah. Her accounts include biographies of John Olson (1845-1896), Daniel (1824-1914) and Amanda Bradley Henrie (1829-1903), and Betsy Elizabeth Kroll Bradley (1811-1893).
