A transcription of a journal entry written by Sarah Oakey Sirrine. It is Sarah's account of the train trip to Mesa via California with her mother and older brother Alfred (Fred). (They stayed there 10 months but returned to Idaho because of the heat). Dated November 16-26, 1885.

A note or journal entry made by Sarah Oakey Sirrine most likely in Logan, Utah. The entry describes an endowmwnet session for deceased family members. "Mother for Fathers Aunt Ann Oakey Laken. Laene (Selena Dayton Oakey) for Dorothy Oakey Garret. (Sister) Hyrum for Grandfather Matthew Cooper. they were sealed for them today, it rained today and made the roads more muddy we think of going home tomorrow. I have been to see Mrs. Kay and bid her goodbye got a letter from Lucy. all well"
