Scope and Contents Interview conducted by an unknown person probably in 1985 for the Ray Hillam military history project. Gunnell served as an English instructor at the United States Air Force Academy when he was deployed to Vietnam in 1969. He flew cargo aircraft in Vietnam, and he told about various missions he flew during the war. He and his crew often flew from six different bases each day flying materiel from one place to another. Zenos H. Gurley letter to Joseph Smith, Jr.

Scope and Contents

Handwritten and signed letter dated 4 May 1842 and addressed to Joseph Smith (1805-1844), the first president of the Mormon Church. Gurley writes that he was unable to attend a meeting with the Nauvoo Legion militia organization and describes the founding of a branch of the Mormon Church in Wisconsin.

Lilian Joan Lockhart Guy autobiography

Typescript of an autobiography. Guy describes her childhood on the island of Tasmania and, at age fifteen, being conscripted into a military clothing factory during World War II. She relates how her family joined the Mormon Church as a unit in 1961 and details their church activities in Brisbane.

Charles Whipple Hadley diary and correspondence

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary and correspondence. The letters relate primarily to business and family matters. Also included are materials relating to astrology and horoscopes. The diary was kept from 1861 to 1862 when Hadley was serving with the Iowa Volunteers. His accounts are often vivid and detailed. He writes about army life and actual combat. Handwritten correspondence between Albert Haines and his wife, Thelda Gwilliam Haines. Most of these items were written while Albert was serving with the United States Army at various posts in the United States and Germany. Levi W. Hancock journal

Phtocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Hancock writes about his service in the Mormon Battalion during the War with Mexico, 1846-1848. He writes about the daily activities of the men and about their hardships. He also includes a number of hand-drawn maps relating to the march of the battalion.
