Contains research material, mostly photocopies, gathered by Henry Landon Miles regarding the life of his great-grandfather, John Horne Miles. Subjects include the merchant marines, John’s missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the polygamy trial in which John was involved in Utah. The materials are dated 1858 to 2001.
Edward M. Patterson diaries and letters
Handwritten diaries recorded while Patterson was on a mission for the Mormon Church in England, 1889-1891. Author describes his daily activities and church assignments. Also included are photocopies of two letters in which Patterson tells about his voyage from Liverpool, England, to New York in 1862. Photocopy of diaries also included.

The journal contains Smith's accounting notes, his life history, and some newspaper clippings glued to the inside front cover. Seven loose or unattached newspaper clippings document natural disasters, death, and theological discussions are also a part of the collection. Dated 1869-1911.
David Spilsbury diaries
Handwritten diaries for the years 1881, 1906-1916, and 1934-1936. The 1881 diary covers the time Spilsbury was a missionary for the Mormon Church in England, the 1906-1916 diary was kept while Spilsbury lived in Toquerville, Utah, and the final journal was kept while he was in Salt Lake City, Utah. Spilsbury writes about his work in the Mormon Church, farming, and international news.
