Handwritten and signed receipt, dated 12 April 1913, and composed in Denver, Colorado. Adams writes, "Recd. of Dr. A. J. Flynn the sum of Forty dollars on account of the purchase price of an oil painting."

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 19 March 1895, and addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth, president of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Also included is the envelope in which the letter was sent and a newspaper clipping describing the life and career of Samuel Benjamin. The letter is a response to Aylesworth's request for biographical information. Benjamin writes largely about his publications.
