Tyler Lincoln letter to Samuel G. Flagg
Handwritten and signed letter, dated December 2, 1842, and addressed to Samuel G. Flagg. Lincoln writes about his feelings after joining the Mormon Church and tells about a new kind of horseshoe.
Mary Alice Powell Lindsay papers
Typewritten photocopies of letters, family photographs and autobiography. Lindsay discusses her long nursing career and how she raised five children during the Depression after the death of her husband. Included in the collection are several letters of recommendation in support of Lindsay's nomination for Utah Mother of the Year, 1965.

Handwritten and unsigned letters that tell about the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. One item is dated 6 July 1876 and was written in Salt Lake City, Utah. The materials give details on the battle that were then available.

Handwritten draft of an unpublished short story with corrections. The date of the composition is uncertain. Also included is a signed letter written to a Mr. Wall in 1929 that deals with the publication of a story by Chambers called "The Happy Parrot."

Howard Rusk Long correspondence
Correspondence. Most of the items date from the 1930s to the 1980s, but some newspaper clippings date from 1844. The materials document Long's journalsitic and teaching careers. He taught for two years at Southern Illinois University. Long organized the International Conferenece of Weekly Newspaper editors. The official publication of the organization was the "Grassroots Editor."
