Scope and Contents Handwitten and signed letter, dated 26 Oct. 1896 (?), and addressed to Lord Ashcombe. Benson writes concerning the "Alfred Commemoration." Also with the collection is a letter addressed to "My dear Cousin" with an illegible signature. Presumably, the item was sent to Benson by a relative. The date of the item is uncertain. The item deals with concerns over when the two will again meet and with a gift from the Duke of Bedford of 500 pounds. Also included are photocopies of these letters...

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 24 June 1838, and addressed to "Mr. Lucas." Cambell writes about his health and mentions "I have finished the preface to Shakspeare & begun to the Life of Petrarch." Also included is a handwritten and signed letter addressed to "dear Madam." The item is not dated. Cambell writes that he regrets he cannot dine with her. With the collection is an undated etching portrait of Campbell.
