 Item — Box: 5, Folder: 46-47
Identifier: Vault MSS 2

Scope and Contents

Handwitten and signed letter, dated 26 Oct. 1896 (?), and addressed to Lord Ashcombe. Benson writes concerning the "Alfred Commemoration." Also with the collection is a letter addressed to "My dear Cousin" with an illegible signature. Presumably, the item was sent to Benson by a relative. The date of the item is uncertain. The item deals with concerns over when the two will again meet and with a gift from the Duke of Bedford of 500 pounds. Also included are photocopies of these letters with two photocopies of a signed portrait of Benson as a young man.
