Typewritten biographies of residents of Grantsville, Utah and other areas of Tooele County, Utah. The materials were created by students in James Allen Parkinson's civics class, primarily during the 1950s. Also contains documents and photographs about or written by residents of Grantsville, likely collected by Parkinson. All materials are photocopies. Dated 1933 to 1962.

John Patten, Sr. and John Patten, Jr. papers
Materials include papers of John Patten, Sr. and his son John Patten, Jr., early converts to the Mormon Church from Indiana. Papers of John Patten, Sr. include a land deed, ordination certificate, receipt, and genealogical records. Papers of John Patten, Jr. include a patriarchal blessing by Isaac Morley, receipts, and an ordination certifcate. Dated 1827-1900.
Edward M. Patterson diaries
Handwritten diaries. Some entries are autobiographical. The materials relate to Patterson's life and activities as well as those of his family. Also included are microfiche copies of the items.
Sarah Patterson journal
Journal includes an autobiographical account of Patterson's life, as well as daily entries on her activities between 1898 and 1903. Entries are made regularly between 1899 and 1901, with occasional entries after that time. Generally relates to daily activities and her work with the Relief Society. Also includes accounts of various deaths in the community.

Contains lists of Paul R. Nielsen's daily appointments, including dinner reservations, doctor's appointments, and bills payments. Also lists other notes from day (usually written in Spanish), and long-term goals, like losing weight, developing hobbies (music and gardening), and cultivating a relationship with his family. Also lists daily expenses and running times for his daily exercise. Dated circa 1995-2009.
