Hamlin Garland letters
Five handwritten letters and postcards written by Garland to his friends Mary Jamiesen Judah and her husband. The items relate to personal matters between Garland and the Judahs.
Harpending family letters
Handwritten and signed letters by Harpending family addressed to various family members (1813-1900), printed receipt cards, and miscellaneous items. The letters contain requests for financial aid for family members involved in prospecting in the California desert.
John Hay letters
Two letters written at Washington D.C. one handwritten and signed, the other typescript and signed. The handwritten item was written on Nov. 23, 1903. It is written to "Dear Uncle Grover" and gives particulars about Hay's biography of Abraham Lincoln. The typescript letter was written on Nov. 10, 1903. It is written to Charles Neumeyer, Esq. explaining that he does not know if Hay's "works" have been translated into German.
Lafcadio Hearn letter
Typewritten letter dated August 1883. The item is addressed to the author, William Douglas O'Connor. Hearn praises O'Connor's writings and discusses other well-known authors including Walt Whitman.
Zenna Henderson letters
Handwritten and signed letters. The letters are solely with Henderson's publisher, Doubleday, and concerns cover layouts, publicity notifications, and manuscript corrections for the titles "The Anything Box," "Pilgrimage," "The People," and "Holding Wonders."
David Hinshaw letters
Three typewritten letters. Two were signed by Hinshaw with "David." They related to the publication of poems by Arthur Guiterman (1871-1943), to the present political situation of the United States, and to personal matters. Two are on "Washington" journal stationary, are addressed to "Maurice," and are dated Nov. 7 and 14, 1930. The remaining item is neither addressed, dated, nor signed and is not on "Washington" stationary but deals with similar matters of the other two.
Elbert Hubbard letter
Handwritten letter dated October 16, 1904 and addressed to "Brother Bean." Hubbard mentions "that book" probably referring to a publication matter.

Handwritten correspondence between Judah and various friends and authors. Most of the items relate to personal matters and questions concerning writing. Correspondents include the writers James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916) and Henry Blake Fuller (1857-1929).
