Typewritten transcript of Herman Thorup's journal for the period of 1879 to 1929; documents his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Denmark, as well as his life in Salt Lake City, Utah; his arrest, trial, and imprisonment for "unlawful cohabitation"; his work as a florist and nurseryman; the impact of the Edmunds Tucker Act; Utah politics; his own political activities; his volunteer work; and his family and spiritual life.

Bound scrapbook which contains newspaper clippings regarding The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, polygamy, Van Zile's work as U.S. District Attorney, and other activities that took place in Utah during the early 1880's. Many items are accompanied by holograph notations by Van Zile. Also includes letters to Van Zile from William M. Thompson and Robert G. McNiece.

Joint Resolution by the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Utah ordering the arrest of B. D. Harris, Secretary of the Territory. The document is dated 26 Sept. 1851. It is signed by Brigham Young; Willard Richards, President of the Council; W. W. Phelps, speaker of the House; and others.

This collection consists of photocopies of typescripts of the original documents. These letters were written by Young to Horace S. Eldredge, a prominent Mormon Church leader and businessman. The items express Young's opinions on church finances and policies and Utah political issues.

Letters were handwritten by Brigham Young to Thomas L. Kane on October 30, 1854. In the letters Young asks Kane to serve as Utah's territorial delegate to Congress. The two letters are identical and were sent separately to ensure delivery. Collection also includes photocopies of the letters.
